We have created two new programs: FREE Extended School Year (Summer School) and a FREE Backstop program that provides at-risk students an extra meaningful hour after school. The individual board members major responsibility is to study issues facing the district, evaluate needs and resources, and, after due consideration, vote in the best interest of all students at such a meeting. I believe that our safety procedures are multi leveled and some are required to be building specific. As a member of the Bloomfield Board of Education, I will use my unique skillset to help build a consensus when possible and to ensure that my concerns are heard and ideally addressed when not. They were there, as almost the first organized form of assistance, for the families of students who lost so much in the flood. I have been active in two grassroots parent/resident organizations such as Bloomfield Families of Sensible Safety and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Another important characteristic is establishing a strong and open communication to inform both internal and external individuals in setting and achieving district goals. The district has a responsibility to provide a safe environment to our students and staff and will do whatever it takes to make an optimal learning environment possible.
